Prime Minister Ali Falah Al-Zaydi directed the service ministries, the Baghdad Secretariat, and the Baghdad Governorate to intensify efforts and accelerate the provision of services in Sadr City, east of the capital, emphasizing the necessity of direct communication with citizens and listening to their demands and needs.
A government source told the Video News Agency that "Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaydi has instructed the service ministries, the Baghdad Secretariat, and the Baghdad Governorate, as well as the directors of service departments, to meet with the notables of Sadr City and listen to their demands and observations."
The source added that "the directives included accelerating the provision of services in the city at various levels and working to meet the needs of its residents and improve the quality of services."
This directive comes after a field tour conducted by Al-Zaydi on Saturday in Sadr City, which included a visit to Sadr General Hospital and one of the public sports fields to review the reality of health and sports services and assess the most pressing needs.
During his visit to the hospital, the Prime Minister was informed about the level of medical services provided to citizens and listened to the healthcare institution's needs and requirements for performance improvement. He also met with a number of youth and athletes at the public field, listening to their aspirations and needs, directing them to follow up on these matters, emphasize sports activities, and provide appropriate spaces to nurture youth talents.
The tour also included direct meetings with citizens, during which Al-Zaydi exchanged conversations and listened to their opinions and observations regarding service and living issues, emphasizing that field communication and listening to citizens and meeting their needs are fundamental aspects of the government's work.
At the end of his tour, the Prime Minister joined some citizens at one of the popular restaurants, in a move reflecting his approach to enhancing direct communication with the people and addressing their demands without intermediaries.
