The prices of Iraqi and foreign gold remained stable in local markets today, Sunday, in Baghdad and Erbil, coinciding with the rise in the exchange rate of the US dollar in local exchanges.
A reporter from the Video News Agency stated that the prices of gold in the wholesale markets on Al-Nahr Street in Baghdad stabilized at 960,000 dinars per mithqal for Gulf, Turkish, and European gold of 21 carats, while the purchase price reached 956,000 dinars, the same prices recorded yesterday, Saturday.
He added that the selling price of Iraqi gold mithqal of 21 carats reached 930,000 dinars, while the purchase price recorded 926,000 dinars.
In jewelry stores, the selling price of Gulf gold mithqal of 21 carats ranged between 960,000 and 970,000 dinars, while the selling price of Iraqi gold mithqal ranged between 930,000 and 940,000 dinars.
In Erbil, gold prices also remained stable, with the selling price of 22-carat gold per gram reaching about 1,019,000 dinars, while 21 carats stood at about 974,000 dinars, and 18 carats at about 834,000 dinars.
Meanwhile, the exchange rate of the US dollar rose, as the Al-Kafah and Al-Harithiya exchanges in Baghdad recorded 168,600 dinars against 100 dollars, compared to 168,300 dinars yesterday, Saturday.
It is worth noting that the prices of 21-carat gold in Iraqi markets surpassed the barrier of one million dinars per mithqal for the first time last January, influenced by the rise in global ounce prices and fluctuations in foreign exchange rates in parallel markets.
