The Egyptian artist Tamer Hosny announced today, Friday, the death of his father Hosni Sherif, after he suffered a health crisis that necessitated his transfer to a hospital, before he passed away.
Tamer Hosny mourned his father through his official account on Facebook, writing: "We belong to God and to Him we shall return, my beloved father is in God's care. I ask you to pray for him for mercy and to recite Al-Fatiha," adding: "May God have mercy on you, my dear."
Hosni Sherif is considered one of the artists who emerged since the 1960s, having experienced singing and acting, and presented several artistic works, most notably the song "Who Like You Who."
Tamer Hosny had previously spoken on various occasions about his father's influence on his artistic career, affirming that he inherited from him the love for singing, describing him as a "great singer," and stating that his artistic success represents the continuation of the dream his father sought to achieve.
The news of his death came just days after Tamer Hosny released his latest musical album "I Won't Repeat," which received wide interaction and praise from his audience since its release.
