The ministerial meeting to support Jerusalem and its holy places, which was held in the Jordanian capital Amman on Wednesday, condemned the Israeli policies and actions that aim to alter the Arab, Islamic, and Christian identity of occupied Jerusalem and its legal and demographic status.

The ministerial meeting rejected, in its final statement, these actions as "null and void with no legal effect, and a blatant violation of international law and Israel's obligations as the occupying power."‏

It confirmed that "East Jerusalem is part of the occupied Palestinian territories over which Israel has no sovereignty, and the capital of the Palestinian state which must be realized as free, independent, and sovereign along the borders of June 4, 1967, to live in security and peace alongside Israel, based on the two-state solution."

It added: "According to the resolutions of international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative, which is the only path to achieving just and comprehensive peace, and reaffirming the New York Declaration for a peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue and the implementation of the two-state solution."

The ministerial meeting also condemned "all Israeli violations in Al-Aqsa Mosque/The Blessed Al-Aqsa, and all attempts to change the existing historical and legal status there and impose temporal and spatial division."

Including, according to the statement, "the increasing incursions carried out by settlers, extremist Israeli ministers and officials, facilitated by the Israeli occupation authorities and under their protection, accompanied by provocative practices and inciting statements."

The ministerial meeting condemned "restricting worshipers' access to the blessed mosque and attacking them, hindering the work of the Jerusalem Awqaf Administration and the affairs of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and continuing illegal excavation works beneath and around the mosque."

The final statement emphasized that "Al-Aqsa Mosque/The Blessed Al-Aqsa, with an area of 144 dunams, is a place of pure worship for Muslims only."

It indicated that "the Jerusalem Awqaf Administration and the affairs of Al-Aqsa Mosque, affiliated with the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Holy Places, is the legal authority with exclusive jurisdiction over managing all its affairs and regulating entry to it."

It also condemned "the Israeli violations targeting Christian sacred sites, threatening the historical Christian presence in Jerusalem, including restrictions on access to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and exercising religious rituals there."

Additionally, "condemning intervention in church affairs, restricting its institutions and properties, and the assaults targeting clergy, worshipers, and religious symbols."

The ministerial meeting warned that Israeli assaults on Islamic sacred sites in occupied Jerusalem "constitute a blatant provocation to the feelings of around two billion Muslims worldwide."

According to the final statement, these assaults "push towards an eruption of a religious conflict whose ramifications will not be contained within the region and will threaten regional and international peace and security."
