President Nizar Amidi emphasized today, Wednesday, that representing Iraq is a significant national responsibility that requires efforts to establish its positive image and enhance its relationships based on mutual respect and common interests.
The media office of the presidency stated in a statement received by the news agency that President Nizar Amidi received, at the Palace of Peace in Baghdad, in two separate meetings, Ambassador Ali Shamran on the occasion of assuming his diplomatic duties as Iraq's ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain, and Ambassador Krikor Derhakuobian on the occasion of assuming his duties as ambassador to the United States of America.
Amidi confirmed, according to the statement, that Iraq's embassies abroad have a national mission represented in reflecting the civilized image of the country, which carries a multiplied responsibility in caring for the affairs of the Iraqi communities, defending Iraq's interests, and enhancing its presence in various international forums, wishing the ambassadors success in fulfilling their tasks.
The statement added that Ambassadors Ali Shamran and Krikor Derhakuobian affirmed their keen commitment to exert maximum efforts to enhance bilateral relations between Iraq and both the Kingdom of Spain and the United States of America, and to develop joint cooperation in various fields.
