The Iranian denial comes at a time when the region is experiencing rapid escalation, following drone attacks on Saudi facilities and infrastructure, the most notable of which was the attack on the oil pipeline extending from the Eastern Province to the Red Sea coast, prompting Riyadh to temporarily suspend the operation of the pipeline as a precautionary measure.
Tehran stated that the accusations directed against it do not rely, according to its position, on evidence proving that it ordered the execution of those attacks, emphasizing that dragging Iran's name into operations launched from other territories aims to hold it accountable for the rapidly evolving security developments in the Gulf.
These developments come amid American accusations of Iraqi armed factions being behind the attacks targeting Saudi and American interests in the region. Meanwhile, these factions deny responsibility for the recent attacks,
and the escalation increases pressure on Baghdad, which faces a complicated security and political equation.
