The prices of Iraqi and foreign gold slightly decreased today, Sunday, in the local markets of Baghdad, while they registered an increase in the markets of Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region.
A correspondent for the News Video Agency reported that the gold prices in the wholesale markets on Al-Nahr Street in Baghdad recorded a selling price of 963,000 dinars for one mithqal of Gulf, Turkish, and European gold of 21 carats, while the buying price reached 959,000 dinars, compared to a selling price of 965,000 dinars yesterday, Saturday.
He added that the selling price for one mithqal of Iraqi gold of 21 carats reached 933,000 dinars, while the buying price was 929,000 dinars.
In jewelry shops in Baghdad, the selling price of one mithqal of Gulf gold of 21 carats ranged between 965,000 and 975,000 dinars, while the selling price of one mithqal of Iraqi gold ranged between 935,000 and 945,000 dinars.
In Erbil, the prices of gold increased, with the selling price of a gram of 22-carat gold reaching about 1,019,000 dinars, while the price for 21 carats was about 974,000 dinars, and for 18 carats it was about 834,000 dinars.
It is worth noting that the pricing of gold in local markets is affected by the global price of an ounce of gold and the local exchange rate of the dollar, in addition to manufacturing costs and the profit margins in jewelry stores.
