Iraqi Border Ports Authority Chairman, Omar Al-Waeli, announced today, Sunday, that the Iraqi border crossings are witnessing a wide commercial exchange with neighboring countries and trading partners, emphasizing the priority given to perishable goods, while Iraqi exports through the Tureibil crossing have exceeded 300 vehicles daily.
Al-Waeli stated in a statement followed by the news video agency that prioritizing perishable goods in procedures is one of the main priorities of the border ports, along with ensuring that other food items and raw materials for the food industry are not delayed.
He added that continuous work around the clock aims to expedite transactions and ensure goods reach the markets, contributing to increased supply and price stability.
He explained that the border crossings are experiencing a wide commercial exchange characterized by high fluidity, with ongoing operations without interruption, and coordination among the entities involved to facilitate traders and address any delays that may affect the Iraqi markets.
Al-Waeli pointed out that export movement from Iraq to neighboring countries has recorded a notable growth during the current period, indicating that exports alone through the Tureibil crossing have surpassed 300 vehicles daily, in addition to the continued transit of various goods.
