The city of Owasso in Oklahoma, USA, witnessed a tragic incident that sparked widespread shock, as influencer and blogger Sarah Gilson (43 years old) was killed after being shot by her estranged husband, Jeremiah "Sean" Duffy (48 years old), who then took his own life at the crime scene.
According to audio recordings from the emergency service (911), authorities received a distress call on the evening of Thursday, July 23, made by one of the children in the home. The dispatcher reported hearing female screaming and crying in the background, followed by a loud bang believed to be a gunshot before the call was disconnected.
Investigations and recordings revealed that the suspect had been pursued by authorities weeks before the crime, due to allegations of immoral conduct and assault on a minor.
Gilson had posted a video on the "TikTok" app on July 11, accusing her husband outright of being a "pedophile," expressing her shock and her attempts to initiate divorce proceedings.
The legal details of the incident date back to the mother of a minor girl (15 years old) filing a protective order against Duffy last June, after accusing him of sexually harassing her daughter, whom he coached on the basketball team, and offering financial incentives to silence her.
Following this, Gilson herself filed for an emergency protective order against her husband on July 10, indicating that he possessed a firearm and had threatened suicide while fleeing from authorities, leading to a court ruling that ordered him to be removed from the home immediately and barred him from approaching her.
