"Meta" begins restoring disabled Instagram accounts

Meta has started, today Tuesday, to restore Instagram accounts that were disabled due to an artificial intelligence glitch, after about 24 hours of being down.

The Digital Media Center (DMC) had confirmed the presence of an unexpected glitch on the Instagram platform that caused the deletion and disabling of dozens of accounts.

The center explained in a statement, which "Video News Agency" reviewed, that "the reason for the deletion and disabling of dozens of user accounts on the Instagram platform is due to a glitch in the artificial intelligence systems, where these systems make quick decisions to delete or disable accounts based on malicious or false reports, without sufficient human review, even though many of the deleted accounts did not commit any violations."

Before assuring users, the center announced that Meta is gradually restoring Instagram accounts.
