The Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo is preparing to marry his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez next weekend in a luxurious wedding ceremony in Madeira.
According to the British newspaper "The Sun," the 41-year-old Portuguese star is set to wed Georgina (32) at the Funchal Cathedral, before heading to the five-star Savoy Palace Hotel for the reception.
Earlier reports had claimed that the couple would marry at the Quinta da Regaleira estate in the city of Sintra this weekend.
However, rumors about holding the wedding there have become questionable, as it has been revealed that the estate will be open to the public during the current holiday.
The British newspaper mentioned that Ronaldo will indeed hold his wedding at the cathedral, where ceremonies typically start at 3 PM, before moving to the Savoy Palace Hotel, which features four restaurants.
A source stated: "Hotel guests have been informed that two floors will not be available for use on Friday and Saturday, along with several areas designated for bars."
Funchal is the birthplace and upbringing of football star Cristiano, and there is a bronze statue in his honor, as well as a hotel named after him.
