Today, Tuesday, Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaydi discussed in the German capital, Berlin, with the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the development of bilateral relations and the joint efforts to enhance economic partnership and support the expansion of German companies' participation in ongoing development projects in Iraq.
The media office of the Prime Minister stated in a release received by the video news agency that Al-Zaydi confirmed during the meeting the government's commitment to enhancing economic openness to Germany and the European Union, coinciding with the trends towards increasing crude oil production and exports, raising levels of electricity production, and accelerating the country's transformation into an effective economic corridor between Asian and European markets through the Development Road project.
The statement added that the Prime Minister reaffirmed Iraq's determination and dedication of efforts to support regional stability and reduce regional tensions, to create more opportunities for economic partnership and integration in development projects that benefit the Iraqi people and friendly nations.
