The temporary committee in the Iraqi parliament has issued its recommendations regarding the 50 thousand barrels of oil allocated to the Kurdistan Region to resolve the fuel crisis in the region.
The recommendations issued today, Thursday, following the committee's meeting, which "Video News Agency" reviewed, state that the provinces of the region will be supplied by the Oil Products Distribution Company, with the quantity allocated to each province calculated in the same manner as for all other provinces in Iraq, and the distribution will be conducted according to the mechanism of the Oil Products Distribution Company in cooperation with the Ministry of Natural Resources in the region.
It also included that in case of fuel shortages, the quantity will be divided equally among all provinces, and in this case, the supply of 50 thousand barrels per day to the region will be canceled, and it will be exported via SOMO, with the Ministry of Natural Resources committing to selling petroleum products in the province according to the prices approved by the federal Ministry of Oil.
The recommendations also stated that if the proposal by the Ministry of Natural Resources in the Kurdistan Region to increase the supplied crude oil from the federal government to more than 50 thousand barrels is approved, the population metric should be taken into account, considering the circumstances of crises in line with all provinces, and the quantity will be determined by a technical committee from refinery companies and the Oil Products Distribution Company.
Additionally: local crude oil for the region will be sold at the same price approved at refineries in other Iraqi provinces, and the delivery of black oil will follow the same mechanism applied in the other Iraqi provinces.
The recommendations included that "the Ministry of Natural Resources commits to supplying citizens in the region at the same prices approved in other Iraqi provinces, and settling the refining costs between the refineries affiliated with the federal Ministry of Oil and the refineries in the Kurdistan Region at the end of each year for payment by the federal Ministry of Oil.
