A security source reported today, Thursday, that armed clashes erupted between security forces and elements of the ISIS terrorist organization near the Hamrin Mountains in Salah al-Din Governorate.

The source stated in a press interview accessed by the "Video News Agency" that a security force clashed with a group of the organization’s members in an area close to the Hamrin mountain range, following the detection of suspicious movements by armed elements, noting that the security forces dealt with the situation directly and began pursuing the organization’s members in rugged areas.

He added that the clashes were accompanied by strict security measures, with forces spread around the area and conducting search and combing operations for other elements that might be hiding in the mountainous regions.
