The General Traffic Directorate in the Ministry of Interior announced on Friday new road closures on the bridges of Baghdad.
A statement from the directorate, received by the Video News Agency, stated that “maintenance work will be carried out on the Al-Muthanna Bridge, which involves planing and paving the road, as well as replacing and repairing the bridge joints,” adding that the work will begin “from 11:00 PM on Thursday until 5:00 AM on Tuesday, and the closure will be partial from the side of Karkh towards Rusafa.”
The statement continued by saying that “maintenance work will also be carried out on the 14th of Ramadan Bridge, which includes replacing and repairing the bridge joints, starting from 11:00 PM on Thursday until 5:00 AM on Sunday,” indicating that “the closure will be partial for the road from the Karkh side, from the Qaddar area of Al-Atefiya towards Al-Azamiyah and vice versa.”
The directorate urged citizens and drivers to “be informed and use alternative routes during the work period, while adhering to the directions of traffic officers.”
