Arrest of a suspect for assaulting a child in Baghdad

The Popular Mobilization Authority announced today, Friday, the arrest of a suspect who appeared in a circulated video on social media, documenting his violent attack on a child.

The authority stated in a statement received by the "Video News Agency" that "a force from the fourth brigade's intelligence within the 30th brigade of the Popular Mobilization Authority, in coordination with a force from Ashur Police Station, managed to arrest a suspect who appeared in a circulated video on social media, documenting his violent attack on a child."

The statement added that "the operation came after monitoring and following up on the circulated video, and obtaining the necessary judicial approvals to execute the arrest order, where the force moved and managed to apprehend the suspect."

It noted that "upon completing the procedural steps, the suspect was handed over to the relevant authorities to take the necessary legal action against him."
