Member of the Reconstruction and Development Coalition, Khaled Walid, confirmed today, Sunday, that the government's focus on several urgent files has delayed the completion of the ministerial cabinet, noting that there are currently no signs of holding a vote session on the vacant ministries.
Walid stated in a press interview that "the file of completing the government cabinet is no longer a priority given the political turmoil and the accumulated issues that occupy the general scene in the country," pointing out that "the House of Representatives faces several challenges, the most significant of which are the financial crisis and the protests in the country demanding appointments and securing financial entitlements."
He added that "discussions about controlling arms have also impacted the delay in completing the ministerial cabinet, in addition to the financial crisis the country is undergoing, which has directly reflected on the performance of state institutions," noting that "the work of the ministries is not currently proceeding fully due to the non-approval of the budget, which has clearly led to a noticeable stagnation in the file of completing the cabinet without any real governmental action to finalize the remaining ministries."
Walid explained that "most political blocs have resolved the naming of their candidates for the vacant ministries, with an initial consensus to proceed with voting on the remaining members of the cabinet; however, the government's focus on other files has hindered the completion process so far."
He indicated that "the continued governmental approach to follow up on economic files, alongside rising discussions about controlling arms, may lead to delaying the resolution of the ministerial cabinet until after September 30, which keeps several ministries under temporary management and affects the effectiveness of government work."
