Deputy Ahmad Kain called on the Prime Minister today, Sunday, to launch new campaigns to combat corruption and not to be satisfied with the measures taken under what is known as the "Dawn Campaign."

Kain said in a press statement that he accessed "the Video News Agency," that "combating corruption requires more serious and comprehensive measures and should not be limited to specific files or individuals," urging the Prime Minister to "launch new campaigns targeting the sharks of corruption and those involved in waste and theft cases away from selectivity."

He added that "corruption still constitutes one of the most prominent challenges facing the Iraqi state and that continuing to pursue petty criminals without reaching the big heads will not achieve the desired results," emphasizing the need to "activate the regulatory and judicial bodies and hold accountable anyone who is proven guilty."

Kain pointed out that "the streets of Iraq are waiting for real steps that translate the slogans of combating corruption into tangible actions," asserting that "opening major files and holding those involved accountable will enhance citizens' trust in state institutions."

He concluded by saying that "the next phase requires bolder and more comprehensive campaigns and should not be limited to the Dawn Campaign in order to reach the sharks of corruption, recover stolen funds, and hold the negligent accountable under the law."
